Agriculture is currently South Africa’s most successful economic sector – and Hollard Insure’s Agri team is making sure that it’s at the centre of the action.
In fact, Hollard is partnering with leading agricultural company OVK at its forthcoming Top Achievers function, to be held in Ladybrand on 3 May.
OVK operates across a wide swath of South Africa, providing services, products, vehicles, financing, insurance, manufacturing, fuel, abattoir and educational support to more than 10 000 farming shareholders.
Its farmers are active in many forms of agriculture, including maize, wheat, sunflowers, dry beans, asparagus, cherry, fruit and vegetable farming, wool and mutton sheep farming, dairy and beef cattle farming, and horse breeding and ostrich farming.
“OVK is one of the top five agricultural companies in South Africa, and stretches from the Western Cape to Mpumalanga,” says Andries Wiese, head of Hollard Insure’s Agri team, who will be speaking at the function.
It’s an amazing company – and a client of Hollard’s as well as a business partner, in that it sells our insurance products.”
Far more than a venue to punt the Hollard brand and the company’s insurance offerings, the OVK Top Achievers event is an opportunity to practise the Hollard way of doing business, says Wiese.
“We believe in an eyeballs-and-handshakes, local-is-lekker approach – which speaks our farmers’ language. This is a great opportunity to meet them face to face, and forge strong, enduring relationships,” says Wiese.
Moreover, the Hollard partnership at the function bears out the Better Futures marketing campaign, which focuses the company on making the world a better place for everyone.
“By helping to recognise excellence in the agriculture sector, we’re promoting even greater outcomes: we’re inspiring farmers, in general, to be better and more productive, we’re stimulating the Agri sector, we’re helping to create jobs and we’re ensuring food security.
“And that, certainly, is what Better Futures is all about,” says Wiese.
