This partnership was celebrated at a special lunch at Villa Arcadia, Hollard’s head office campus in Johannesburg, on Friday, attended by Artinsure’s staff and Hollardites who have played a hand in the UMA’s success over the years.

At the lunch, Pierre Geyer, Managing Executive of Operations at Hollard Broker Markets, under which Artinsure falls within the Hollard Group, thanked Artinsure managing director Gordon Massie and his team for the work they have put into making Artinsure a success and said that Hollard is proud to be associated with the company.

As its major shareholder, Hollard brought two things to its relationship with Artinsure: it was an investor in the fledgeling brand, and it provided a facility for Artinsure to write business.

“The main thing with the Artinsure relationship has been to cement our reputation as an innovative insurer,” says Graeme Young, Hollard’s principal for Artinsure and a director on the Artinsure Board.

“It’s been a successful 10 years. It’s doing insurance differently, bringing together two very different worlds – the creative world and the technical, business-focused insurance world – to provide peace of mind and comfort to art lovers.”

For Massie, Artinsure had humble beginnings – but it’s come a long way since.

“More than 10 years ago, Hollard and I bought into a vision born in a spare bedroom. Today, we celebrate 10 years’ worth of a fruitful, successful, sustainable partnership and a premium brand,” he says proudly.
